About this CD:
Every day, we are subjected to bad news, economic doom and gloom, with stories of how we have lost our connection with community and human compassion. Well, it's good to hear a human story that rises above the clouds - a story about bunch of musicians giving their time and effort to help a good cause  in Sligo.

When Steve McGovern died from pancreatic cancer in February of this year, it was a shock to everyone who knew him. A young musician aged just 43; he was a talented piano player who championed the blues in Dublin, in his home county of Cavan and in the areas around Boyle and Carrick-on-Shannon where he lived with his partner Susan Tomelty.

In April, members of the Blues Club at JJ Smyth's, Aungier Street, Dublin hosted a fundraiser in memory of Steve. More recently a Rhythm & Blues Jamboree took place in memory of Steve at the Breffini Arms Hotel in Arvagh Cavan where seven bands performed to raise money for the hospice.

Now, to celebrate his memory and in an effort to try and channel some good out of this tragic event, Steve's partner Susan has produced a CD in conjunction with some of their friends to raise funds for the North West Hospice in Sligo.
